Sojourner was a Contemporary Christian Band from the Houston, TX area which released a single album on Life Spring Records in 1989, The band was co-founded by singer/songwriter/producer Orlando Juarez and singer/songwriter/bassist Randy Harvey who joined together many musicians who were part of the Chi Alpha Christian Fraternity from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX with the sole purpose of reaching the masses for Christ.

The music group went through a few member changes before the final group solidified into the Sojourner who signed with Life Spring Records and released the amazing 10 song album “He Know Every Heartache” which displayed the passionate and skilled musicianship of its members: Orlando Juarez, Randy Harvey, Luther Goodman, Jimmy Marks and Mark Townsend. With a drive for musical perfection, the group corporately produced this album of songs recording, mixing and mastered by Carey Wise at 4th Creation Recording Studio , Conroe, TX from 1987-1989 and released “He Knows Every Heartache” on his indie label Life Spring Records. Sojourner’s music found it’s way to numerous radio stations worldwide including Houston’s own KSJB-FM where Sojourner won “The Calling” songwriting contest in the late 1980’s propelling them to the forefront of the Christian music scene in Houston and subsequently opening up for various national recording artists at Astroworld, Lakewood Church and Sam Houston Colosseum, Houston, TX, among many other churches and venues through out Texas. Sojourner co-founder, Orlando Juarez is the songwriter of the internationally known song “Welcome Into This Place” recorded by Carmen, Gary Oliver and featured on Hosanna Integrity! Worship and Praise Project entitled “Welcome Into This Place” as well as numerous internationally release films. Past members of Sojourner included Don Wiehe, Beth Wiehe, Anita Williams, Boyd Dupree, Mark Borden, Tim Farrar, and Kenny Bourgeois as sound engineer.

Since 1990, each member of Sojourner have moved on into various businesses and or ministries around the world staying strong in their faith in Christ Jesus.
